Shrinking for Good

October 7th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Uncategorized |

In case you didn’t notice, I didn’t weigh-in last week. Well, I did weigh-in, I just didn’t get a chance to post about it because of computer issues. Well, my computer is back up and running, so I’m here to check in for last week and this week!

9/23/09: 145.6

9/30/09: 142.6 <—-That’s a 3 pound loss for last week! WOOT!! Can I get a HOLLA?

10/7/09: 143.6 <—-That’s a 1 pound gain this week.

No, I’m not disappointed or freaked out about my gain this week. I’ve come to realize that as I get closer to my goal, it’s going to be harder. I have to look at the big picture even more now, and realize there will be no sprint to the finish. It’s actually going to be harder to get to the finish than it was to get where I am right now. I own it. I accept it.

I did start my 5K training yesterday, and while I’m a little sore in unusual places, I feel pretty good about it! I am honestly hoping that the running high hits me, because I didn’t really enjoy the run yesterday. It was hot and muggy and my pants kept falling down! We’re supposed to get a cold front this weekend, so hopefully that will cool things off, and I promise to wear clothes that fit me next time I run!

Peace out.

  • It's a great feeling when our pants fall down isn't it! lol! Just not good when trying to run!

The three lbs down last week was insane, so this just levels you out to a normal pace...keep on running girl!

You are doing great! Keep up the good work...and run, run, run those pounds away!

woot! two pounds in two weeks (like how i'm ignoring the gain?).

and a big woot! for the 5k training. i get a high from running, but it didn't hit me till i was doing about 20 or 30 minutes without stopping. maybe its too early? also when the temp hits about 60 - that's perfect running weather!

oops, don't wanna forget the woot! for clothes that are too big!
  • You are doing so great, hooker! And I'm so excited we're all training for a 5K. It's amazing motivation, knowing you'll be in a race and trying not to pass out/barf. Are you training with a stroller?

    Thanks, girl!!!!
Yes, I am training with a stroller. I don't really have a choice since I'm
home without my better half during the week. Thank goodness I have a good
jogging stroller, too, because I'm running partially on dirt roads!!!

  • YAY FOR THE LOSS AND YAY FOR RUNNING!!!

that running high i've only really gotten once, and it was during some random 4 mile run. wish it happened every time, but i can just say it does get easier the more you do it, i promise you that. all of a sudden you're running 3 miles and that's the norm. that will be you!!! weeeee!!!!

the temperature outside REALLY matters. i have really crappy runs in the heat because i get headaches. can't wait till it cools off!!! shorts and dry fit tops help though, they wick away the sweat, (one more mile tanks ROCK!)
  • Oh, what I wouldn't give for a run in "hot and muggy!" Winter on the Canadian prairies is WAY too close now for comfort!!!

Keep up the great work, Christy! And thanks so much for your constant encouragement!!!
