True Confessions

October 19th, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Christy |

Like Heather, I’ve been under the weather the past week. Well, actually more than under the weather, I’ve been flat out sick. The kind of sick where you don’t want to move, eat, or even think too hard. Yeah, it sucked! This past weekend, I finally started to feel my former self emerging. Thankfully!!! My appetite is just now coming back, too. I can only imagine the carnage once it’s back in full force. Good thing I don’t really have anything bad in my house. You know, like Perfect Brownie pans….just saying!

Anyway, here are my confessions:

  1. I haven’t been drinking enough water. At all.
  2. I haven’t run or exercised since LAST Sunday. As in 8 days ago. My chest congestion is almost cleared up, so I hope to hit the road tomorrow, perhaps.
  3. When I did eat this past week, I ate things like waffles with REAL butter. ZMG. I hadn’t had REAL butter in months and months. It was the salted, sweet cream California butter and it was so freaking marvelous. I must throw the rest away (we only had one stick that my mom left when she was here visiting) before I eat it whole.
  4. I also had a cheeseburger from Fuddruckers. Okay, I only ate half of it, but WOW. Now I know why I don’t eat those things anymore. I have no control, and I will eat and eat and eat. I’ll stick with eating at home from now one.
  5. I’m proud to say I didn’t consume any desserts. Probably because by the time I took 5 bites of my food, I couldn’t imagine eating for another 2 days.

I want to give a quick shout out to my friend, and your fellow Sister, Kirsten! She finished her (first) Nike Women’s 1/2 marathon yesterday in San Francisco and ran the whole way!!! (WAY TO GO, Girl! I’m so proud of you!!!!) Do me a favor and go give her some love, okay!

fuddruckers is a family favorite and we have one here in town. so hard not to get a burger. and fries. (dipped in cheese of course) and onion rings. and a cookie.
  • Yeah, they just built one in the nearest big town and I love it. We used to eat there when I lived in Houston, and I'd forgotten how yummy it was. The one near us has buffalo burgers, ostrich burgers, and even wild boar burgers - all lower in fat than beef! I tried the buffalo burger once and it was delish! I think I might get crazy and try ostrich next. The hard thing is NOT covering it in cheese sauce and having a side of fries with it :)

A cheeseburger from Fuddruckers?! How decadent and delish : ). Now get your shoes back on and start running!
  • My plan is to hit the EAS workout tonight and then lace up my shoes and try to run tomorrow! I'm still a little rattly in the chest, so I don't want to keel over or anything!!!

So glad you are feeling better. Being sick is the pits. After being sick, I don't think that half a cheeseburger is going to hurt you.
