Christy’s True Confessions
Well, it’s time for me to saddle up and get down to business. This past week hasn’t been so pretty, at least in my eyes. Do you ever feel like when you are so focused on one thing, it’s hard to maintain focus on other things? That’s me.
My sites have been so heavily set on Team in Training and stressing about fundraising, that all I want to do is eat. Seriously.
*beep beep beep beep*
That’s the sound of the forklift backing up to my mouth so I can shovel the food in.
It’s got to stop. Fast.
My infractions for the week:
- Candy.
- Chocolate covered strawberries.
- Party treats at my son’s Valentine’s Day party. Way too many treats.
- The Pioneer Woman’s chicken parmigiana.
- Chocolate frozen yogurt with peanut butter spooned on top.
- More candy.
- Not enough water.
I do *not* normally eat this way. I purposely don’t keep candy and sweet treats in the house because, HELLO, look what happens. No control!
On a good note, I will say that one night I scooped a heapin’ helpin’ of fro yo into a bowl and topped it with an extra large dollup of extra crunchy peanut butter, and after the first bite I was so disappointed in myself that I put the bowl in the sink and ran hot water on it! HA! That took some willpower. I mean who wants to waste chocolate peanut buttery goodness like that?!
Did you know that extra crunchy peanut butter has 200 calories in TWO TABLESPOONS, and that 2 tablespoons is to be measured level, as in NOT heapin’? Yup.
Another positive is that my training for the San Diego 1/2 marathon is going great! My runs have been amazing and so invigorating!!
So that’s it. Hopefully the scales will be nice to me in the morning. Lord knows I’ll be hitting the Last Chance Tworkout with extra intensity tonight!

step away from the chocolate covered strawberries!
now pass them this way. that's right i'm going to take one for the team and remove your temptation
did you know there are AT LEAST 50 calories in just one strawberry? one or two maybe be worth it more than that and no way.
the weekend is over – no holidays are in sight. get back at it!!

Oh, those little chocolate covered strawberries came with nutritional info! NINETY calories each. FOR REAL. My husband ordered them for me because my son saw a commercial on TV for them and BEGGED him. It was so sweet, and of course I had to eat SIX of them. At least I didn't eat the whole dozen! HA! I did spread them out over 2 days
So, I'm sorry to say that I won't be able to pass them along to you, although it's quite noble of you to offer to take them off my hands and save me from falling even further! MWAH!!!

:-O I hope that's not how many are in mine. the daily plate said 45 each. crap. were yours extra huge or extra chocolaty or something? maybe i don't get dessert tonight.

They were average size, dipped in a usual amount of chocolate, but they did have fancy little candy sprinkles on them. The sprinkles may or may not have been in the shape of tiny lips. Just sayin'.

okay so i guess i'm upping the calorie count of mine for tonight. gotta eat
it or it'll go bad right??

Sadly, I don't think even the tworkout could possibly save me from the weigh in tomorrow. It is NOT going to be pretty.
Luckily, there are no major holidays coming up soon, so you should be able to clear the treats from the house and get back on track. (I think, anyway. crap, when is Easter, anyway? we don't do most holidays, so I lose track) As to the chicken parmigiana, I offer you an amazingly good substitue:

My husband, the “I don't do HEALTH food” man (*health* being a nasty word in his vocabulary) literally licks the plate clean when I make this. And at only 5 points it's no problem planning to fit it into your day.
Great job on your runs! I'm feeling rather bad that I'm falling behind on my training, but looking forward to getting back on track asap1

Brooke, you are so noble! To take a hit like that for a sister — that's love!

Yeah, I don't think my weigh in can be saved either! A girl can dream, though
Thanks for the recipe link! I need a healthier alternative for chicken parmigiana because I LOVE some good Italian food! I'll keep PW's recipe on hand for those splurge meals!!
You'll get back on track with your training! I have no doubt about it!!! Honestly, I think you're doing an amazing job considering the weather you've been dealing with!
