Rethink Your Shrink Weigh In #4

January 27th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Christy, Rethink Your Shrink |

Hello brand new week! I’m so happy to see you. Seriously. After last week’s Flex Points debacle, I’m ready for a clean slate and a fresh set of Points. I will never, ever act like that again! Promise!

So on to the good stuff!

Last week’s weight: 140
This week’s weight: 138
Change: -2 POUNDS <—--Did you see that? OMFG! I haven’t lost 2 pounds in a month, muchless ONE week, in I don’t even know how long!

THIS is why we sing the praises of Weight Watchers. This very reason. If you do it, and  you are honest with yourself in tracking your points, it works. Simple. Yes, it’s a little cumbersome when you first start out, but isn’t anything new? If you are on the fence about Weight Watchers, please get off and give it a try.

What did I learn this week? I learned that I need to plan a little better for my splurges. There is nothing wrong with splurging. As a matter of fact, I think you HAVE to splurge every now and then, or else you’ll go completely insane and the paddy wagon will pull up in your driveway.

I also learned that my indulgences are not what they used to be. One night this past week, I was starving to death (because I blew all my Flex Points) and wanted something, anything to eat. I grabbed the nearest thing and plunged it into Cool Whip. The nearest thing was a Z-bar, okay TWO Z-bars, and the Cool Whip was light. While I totally used Points I didn’t have, it could have been so much worse. The old me would have grabbed a 1/2 gallon of ice cream out of the freezer and polished most of it off. In one sitting. With chocolate sauce and probably nuts, too. Yeah, that was me.

So I am victorious this week, because I finally realized that I’ve been successful! I have changed my LIFESTYLE, and that is a huge win for me.

Also, if you haven’t joined us on Twitter for our Last Chance Tworkouts during the Biggest Loser, you totally should! You’re missing out :) Just check it out for  yourself.

Shrink-a-Versary Extravaganza BABY!

Can I just tell you I’m SO excited about this challenge. SO excited because the Sisterhood has been around for almost a year and it makes my heart so happy to think of all the wonderful people I’ve met in shrinkdom! I’ve forged strong bonds with people who are so amazing and inspiring and just downright freaking awesome!! Without them, my life would not be as full as it is at this very moment.

So on to the good stuff!

My goal for this challenge is very conservative. The reason is that I’ve continuously set lofty goals for myself, and time after time, I fall short of meeting them. For once, I want to meet my goal and feel that victory!!! So my goal is to lose 5 pounds over the next 7 weeks. I feel good about that goal and I feel like I can achieve it.

As far as my EA Sports Active 5K challenge training goes, it’s been kind of hit and miss. Illness and rainy weather have tried their best to derail my efforts, but I’m staying the course. I might not be running the entire Sisterhood 5K come Sunday, November 8th, but dagnabbit, I’m going to give it my all. I’m going to push myself to make it as far as I can before keeling over on the side of the road and passing out!

Today’s Shrink-a-Versary Extravaganza starting weigh-in: 142 (up .8 from last week, if you’re keeping track!)

Good luck to all of you who’ve joined our fantastic challenge! I hope you find the kind of fulfillment I have here at the Sisterhood!!

EA Sports Challenge – Day 1

August 31st, 2009 | Comments | Posted in Christy, EA Sports 30-Day Challenge |

Day 1 was GREAT! I was actually excited to get started, and since I was already familiar with all the exercises and the way it works, I dove in.

I’m going to copy Melissa and do a bulleted list ;)

  • I chose to do the hardest level of workout and I like it.
  • The inline skating, which I did not use the Wii Balance Board for, were very intense. I was jumping high, and my thighs were on FIRE!
  • Like several others have mentioned, I might invest in a better resistance band. I don’t feel like my arms are getting much of a workout when I’m using the one that came with the game.
  • I was very sweaty when I was done, but had amazing levels of energy all day!! Love that!!
  • I did wear a sports bra. Thank God.

I’m really looking forward to tomorrow!! The fact that the workout is different every day is so very appealing :)

Challenge Day 1

December 1st, 2008 | Comments | Posted in Christy |

I stepped on the scale this morning and was pleasantly surprised with the number that stared back at me. 155.2! I did not gain a single ounce over the holidays. Can I just tell you that’s NEVER happened. Except maybe when I was 7, or something like that.

One-fifty-five-point-two. Goodbye forever.

My personal goal this week is to concentrate on everything I put into my mouth. Because I’m so busy, I often eat while I’m doing 269 8 other things, like cutting up bananas, designing a blog, writing a post, mopping the floor, wiping my son’s butt, and answering 467 emails. Seriously. I’ll make myself something to eat and before I know it, the food is gone, and I honestly don’t even remember eating it. Sometimes I wonder if I did eat. That’s not good.

So starting today, I’m going to think about each bite. I’m going to chew it slowly. I’m going focus on each meal and realize that I’m fueling my body so I can do all those 269 8 things I have to do today.
